Megan G. Starting the beachy waves process

Step 1: Shampoo and Condition with Professional product. My personal favorite is Redken All Soft shampoo and conditioner. This is a great option for almost any hair type. It has Argon oil in it to add moisture and the Interlock Protien Network which helps drive all of its amazing ingredients into the hair and create a perfect balance of protien and moisture. If you need to eliminate dull, dry hair this is the perfect product for you.

Step 2: Without brushing your hair at all, towel dry. If you want to have the least amount of frizz, I recommend towel drying your hair with a t-shirt. This will help prevent the cuticle from getting roughed up from a towel.

Step 3: Apply products. I like to use 3 different products prior to drying the hair.

  1. Diamond Oil: This will add shine, strength and penetrate beyond the cuticle into the cortex of the hair leaving the hair 3x stronger and with 2x more shine. There is the Diamond Oil intense for coarse to medium hair textures, and a Diamond Oil for fine hair.
  2. Pureology Highlight Stylist Gold Definer: This product will help give your hair a natural texture. It is great for curls and also treats the hair with products like jojoba and apricot oil.
  3. Pureology Highlight Stylist Sea Kissed Texturizer: This is my absolute favorite product and the key to keeping a lightweight, organic beachy look. If there is one product I could never live without this would be it.

Step 4: Put all of the hair on the top of your head in a messy bun (remember do NOT brush your hair). This is the time to do your make-up, eat breakfast, get dressed and do all the things you need to do before finishing your hair.

Step 5: Flip your head upside down and dry it with a difuser. I prefer the Sam Villa hair dryer and diffuser. If you do not have a diffuser, put a sock on the end of you blow dryer.

Use a diffuser

Step 6: Flip your head back over and place all of the hair where you want it to lay. (I like to put a tiny drop of Diamond Oil in my hands to keep my hair from frizzing.)

Step 7: Use a curling iron or wand and wrap a few of the straighter pieces around to create a natural looking curl. This can range from 5 to 15 pieces depending on your hair.

Step 8: Flip your head upside down and shake it. Use your fingers to separate the curls for a more organic look. Now would also be the time for a little hairspray if desired. I prefer the Redken Quick Dry 18. It has a great balance of hold and shine without leaving the hair feeling sticky.
