Elle Marie Hair Studio Stays Local with New Approach to Pink Hair Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraising

Elle Marie Hair Studio announces the formation of the Elle’s Angels Foundation with the launch of their very own Breast Cancer Awareness Month fundraiser, Pink Hair 2 Save a Pair featuring $10 pink hair extensions! Pink Hair 2 Save a Pair

Elle Marie has been in the forefront of the October pink hair craze since 2007 as ladies (and a few brave men) proudly display their support for breast cancer awareness by wearing pink hair extensions all month long. Requesting a small donation of just $10, to date Elle Marie has raised over $17,000 toward the cause. This money was distributed to a couple different cancer charities through a pink hair program organized by their hair extension supplier. This year Elle Marie is switching gears and going with a more local approach by raising and distributing funds themselves.

Now through October 31st, for a minimum $10 donation guests can visit any of Elle Marie’s locations in Lake Stevens, Lynnwood and Mill Creek to receive a pink hair extension as part of their new Pink Hair 2 Save a Pair breast cancer awareness fundraiser. All money raised will be distributed to Snohomish County residents selected by Elle Marie’s management team based on submitted nomination forms. To better support this overall effort, including their commitment to other local charities such as Everett-based Queen, It’s a New Day, Elle Marie is excited to announce the launch of the Elle’s Angels Foundation. How do I transition from summer blonde to a darker blonde/brown for fall? I’m scared!

Parker - Hairstylist at Lake Stevens

Here in the Northwest, our summer sun is super damaging to hair, with all the UVA and UVB rays. Environmental conditions open up the cuticle and inner structure of the hair. One of the best ways to transition to a darker and softer look is to use products which offer protection, protein and reconstruction.

First, you need a deep reconstructing product; one that has a fortifying complex that strengthens the cortex, locks in proteins, while also reinforcing surface protection and beautiful shine. Next you need a thermal protectant, which will prevent your cuticle from breaking, becoming dry and dull.

Taking just a few minutes a day to add to your daily routine will help with a soft, non-damaging transition to hair that complements our beautiful fall season! Product suggestions include: Pureology Heat Spray Primer and Redken Strength Builder. Both will lock in the moisture and proteins the hair so desperately needs. Ultimately, you will have an easy and beautiful transition to a darker season of hair color!

Shine like the sun

Brittani - Hairstylist at Alderwood

We are finally starting to have a little sun in the Northwest and that means your hair might start feeling a little dry! If that is the case I would add a leave-in treatment to your regimen!

I love our Redken Polishing Prep. This simple but useful product is sprayed on when you get out of the shower, then just continue with your regular routine! This product has Apricot Oil and Glycerin to restore, rebalance and retain an optimum level of moisture. Best of all, it is ridiculously lightweight so you don’t even know that you have another product in your hair. How can you not love a product that doesn't weigh down your hair? Add a comment

Red hair is hot! But how do I keep mine from cooling down?

Emma - Hairstylist at Alderwood

When you shampoo your hair, does the vibrancy of your red hair color seem to wash down the drain? Pureology’s new REVIVING RED system is your answer! Various natural oils, including coconut, olive, sunflower, jaljala and jojoba, add lustrous shine and seal the hair cuticle to reduce color bleeding. The entire system contains these oils and includes a concentrated sulfate-free shampoo, detangling conditioner, light-reflecting caring oil and color enhancing treatment capsules.

Christina Hendricks

We all admire the beautiful red and copper tresses of Christina Hendricks, Emma Stone, Amy Adams and Julianne Moore and may wonder how they keep their color so fiery? Whether you are naturally red or not, the Reviving Red Red Reflect Enhancer capsules add an extra pop of color while conditioning your hair at the same time, making the treatment especially useful just before a date or ladies night! Although I am not a red head (so jealous of Ariel’s hair!), my brunette hair with coppery-red balayage highlights are more vibrant and shiny while using the Reviving Red system.
